But I'm sure that you are still a little nervous about what's going to happen in the class and how you're going to get all the work done. Because I will never ask you to do what I am unwilling to do myself, I'll begin the discussion. Here's what I've discovered about my name, Chaun Louise Came:

As I read through this, a couple key words jump out at me--"strong mind," "ability to apply your ideas to practical purposes," "others seek you out for counsel and guidance." If "strong mind" means stubborn, that I am. I have been accused of being stubborn all my life. My father's favorite saying was that I was as stubborn as a bull moose. Having never met one personally, I can only imagine just how stubborn one is if he is anything like me. In addition, I am very practical. I think that shows in my teaching style. I look for ways to take the abstract information I have to teach and present it in a hannds-on, practical way. In my opinion, if it's not useful then it's not worth spending time with. Finally, I am one of those people who could be visiting a city, sitting on a park bench, and a total stranger will begin telling me their life's story, and they ususally begin the same "I don't know why I'm telling you all of this. . . ." People generally feel comfortable talking to me--not that I can or try to solve all problems--but I listen.
While this is much like a horoscope in that it is very general, there are some kernels of truth concerning my personality in there. And while it doesn't change who I am, it underscores how I perceive myself and lends credence to some of the things that I have heard all my life about my personality.

I actually do agree with most of it. I see myself as warmhearted, and I like for people to know that they can be comfortable around me. I would like to believe this is an adequate description of my personality, as it touches on several traits I have been complemented on all my life. I make it my effort to be optimistic and find the good in people and life's difficult situations. Without a doubt, I am eager to lend my point of view and dispense my advice or guidance at any given chance, so much so that, as the description states, I find it hard to pull myself away from those situations and am sometimes crushed beneath the weight of it all. Life is never dull with your adventurous and restless spirit. You are always on the move and seeking a new challenge to pit your wits against. Being in touch with nature you love the outdoors. After finally taking a look at what my name means actually suits me. I do enjoy being outside much more than being stuck inside. I am not shy and love keeping conversations with others. It was very interesting finding the meaning of my name "Wesley Colter Prescott". The meaning of my first name Wesley is "western meadow" which I believe fits me well being that my life revolves around horses and cows. My middle name Colter, or Colt, for short can mean many different things. One of those things being a "herd" or another such as "young horse". Colter also can be defined as a sharp steel wedge that precedes the plow and cuts vertically through the soil. Colter is a very rare male first name but a very popular surname. Then there is my last name Prescott which means "priest cottage" or "dwelling". All three of my names originated from Old English and I think they fit me well. If given the chance I would not like to change my name,so that's about all I can tell you about my name.
